 wireless security camera

As with most people, our garages usually house more than the family car. Quite often we have our quads, bikes and tools in the garage as-well. This being said it would be wise to have a wireless security cameras located in the garage. Quite often thieves will target the garage, knowing there are full of good stuff and usually easy to gain access to. So many people seem to get ahold of me after they have been victimized by thieves. You can obtain a good wireless security camera and a wireless DVR for less than two hundred dollars. A great price to save a lot of possible hassles, if thieves know there is a camera they generally move on as they are opportunists.  Why not protect your things before you lose them?

Wireless DVR: A Very Popular Tool Against Crime

Author: nathan February 27, 2010

wireless DVR

Over the last few months I have seen a steady rise in sales from my store of wireless DVR kits. DVR stands for digital video recorder. This wireless receiver allows you to record motion in either AVI or jpeg format to a SD card. These wireless DVR kits can accommodate up to 4 wireless cameras and you can mix and match ie 2 indoor cameras and 2 outdoor cameras or which ever your needs are. This makes this wireless technology both versatile and very affordable at the same time.

I have been fielding all sorts of questions, people are very happy to learn they can easily integrate the wireless DVR in to their preexisting wireless camera configuration. As long as your system matches the 2.4 Ghz DVR you can use it with any wireless camera in that same spectrum. You see it does not matter how many receivers you have, you can have one on each TV set, so adding a wireless DVR is no issue. Something to think about, a painless way to beef up your wireless security system.

Wireless IP Cameras Keep You In The Loop

Author: nathan February 17, 2010

wireless IP cameraWireless IP cameras have so many really great uses. The fact that they can be viewed from any PC and most smart phones, makes them very versatile. I have had all sorts of people apply wireless IP cameras for all sorts of situations every thing form video conferencing to farmers keeping an eye on there livestock in the barns. One really good feature is the fact that all the camera needs is AC power to operate, no other wires needed! The wireless IP cameras can be moved around should your needs change with great ease, again no wiring to have to relocate.

Wireless IP cameras  are really good for  surveillance as they stream live video and can send pictures through your email. Most outdoor wireless IP cameras are equipped with IR lights that allow them to see in the dark a great tool for crime prevention for either your home or office.  This style of camera is most likely the most versatile and cost effective security cameras system out there today.

Cheap Wireless Security Cameras

Author: nathan February 15, 2010

wireless security cameraThere all sorts of cheap wireless cameras out there and for the most part they are something to be desired. I have found a few wireless security cameras out there that do in fact produce decent picture for a reasonable price. To be fair some of the issue can be the wireless receivers. I have tested out all sorts of both wireless cameras and wireless camera receivers and have found that some of the time the receiver is less than good. I have used good quality CCD wireless cameras, hooked them up to one receiver great picture, tried another type and wow! picture not so good.  The trick is to find a good camera along with a good receiver and you should be set. Remember you get what you pay for, this is really true with any type of camera.

The naked truth about wireless cameras!

Author: nathan February 9, 2010

Some people are quite dismayed by funny little lines showing up on their receivers from their wireless cameras. This does not denote faulty product, the lines you see are caused by noise interference, things like wireless routers, cordless telephones and even microwave can have some impact on the noise. Generally speaking it’s not too bad when you have a wireless dvr  and some decent wireless cameras, you can easily make out who just stole your bike for instance.  Do your best to place your wireless cameras away from other devices that may interfere with it. The technology is improving for sure.  Be careful of anything analogue (ie 900MHz) and possibly the 1.2 GHz spectrum as well as they can be more susceptible to greater noise levels and there range is quite often more limited. Most standard  wireless cameras now are 2.4 GHz and moving steadily in the 5.8 GHz spectrum.  This little blurb is only for informational purposes, just to let people know the lines are normal and wireless cameras are a great cost effective tool in crime prevention and safety for your family and belongings.

I took the above picture with one of our wireless CCD cameras, notice the lines. That’s what I’m talking about here.

Indoor wireless security cameras vs outdoor wireless security cameras, what you should know.

Author: nathan February 6, 2010

wireless security camerasWith wireless security cameras, one of the first things you should consider is where you need them to be set up. What I mean by this, do the wireless security cameras need to be indoors or outdoors? I have seen some people prop wireless cameras up in windows looking out side but this is not usually the best practice as things like motion detect may not function through the window. I have had customer tell me their cameras don’t work then when I find out they are inside looking through windows I ask them to test the camera outside and voila!

If you require outdoor surveillance, such as the car or your yard, you should in-fact purchase outdoor specific wireless cameras. They usually come equipped with led lights that allow them to see in the dark and the housing  is water proof and can handle the elements . Another issue I have seen is using the outdoor cameras inside, again looking out the window, at night you wont see any thing because the leds are reflecting off of the glass.  Never use an indoor wireless camera out side it will not last, if it gets rain on it chances are it will short out and then that’s good bye camera! You can however use a combination of indoor and outdoor cameras, should you need to watch both, just make sure that the cameras are on different frequencies!
