Smile your on Camera!
October 30, 2008
With crime on the rise people are looking for ways to prevent it happening to them. A very effective was is t to install wireless security cameras around your home or small office. Quite often when would be thieves or vandals see the cameras they will move on to easier pickings. For the most part they are opportunists looking for a way to a quick buck.
Some cameras come equipped with mics to catch what the camera may not see on audio. This can be a simple solution to preventing crime so you won’t have to deal with the head aches of insurance claims, saving you time and money in the long run.
Keeping an eye on your shop
October 26, 2008
As I look around my neighborhood I see allot of people with workshops or detached garages and I know form my own house that this is where allot of toys are kept such as quads, boats, dirt-bikes and usually tools. These are generally your high ticket items . Thieves know this as well.
This a great place to install a wireless security camera. As you can keep an eye on your things form inside the house or record events should some one gain access to your shop. This could a good solution for your piece of mind
Video baby monitor
October 24, 2008
A lot of parents prefer not to let their babies sleep with them. As early as infancy, the baby sleeps in her own nursery room. This trains her to sleep by herself early on.
Of course, parents want to make sure that their baby is alright. They can do this by installing a video baby monitor. Having one allows a parent to visually monitor their baby’s’ cries.
An Indoor wireless camera can be priceless!
October 24, 2008
Security in our homes is no laughing matter. We never know if our loved ones are safe while we are away. If only we could stay beside them 24/7, but that is not always the case.
For peace of mind, a great investment for our homes would be installing an indoor wireless camera. This way, we are assured that our homes are safe and that our loved ones are secure.

Today I was talking with a customer of mine who is a member of a local community hall. They expressed their frustration on the amount of graffiti that winds up on their hall. “It seems as though we are painting it (the hall) every 4 or 5 months” we have no recourse”. She exclaimed.
This is a perfect scenario for wireless surveillance cameras so when you can’t be there; as with places like community halls all the time. You have eyes all ways on the look out for such property vandalism. This will hopefully deter would be vandals from painting the building, and if they do, well how to you say busted! I will keep you posted on how this turns out.
CCD Vs CMOS Censors
October 13, 2008
This might look like a title for a boxing match, but really this is about two different types of camera sensors. The first CCD (which stands for charge-coupled device) create high-quality, low-noise images. CMOS sensors, (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) are traditionally more sensitive to noise. To keep things simple due to the way these two types of censors are designed the CCD type has higher light sensitivity than it’s CMOS counter part. Compared to the CMOS the CCD uses up to 100 times the amount of power on an similar counterpart. CCD sensors have been in production longer than CMOS and there for have higher quality as far as the picture quality goes. On the other hand the CMOS sensors can be produced for way less then the CCD therefore for the cameras reflect the price point.
I have used both types for wireless security cameras applications, for the price the CMOS seems to work really well they are more robust and if used outside the sensors stand up better to sun light and some can run on a simple 9 volt battery!. But on the other hand the CCD type do produce a clearer picture, although they do consume more power. So in the end it is up to the consumer how much do you want to spend and what are your requirements for the cameras.
Wireless DVR recievers
October 9, 2008Wireless home surveillance is a good idea for anybody but what good is it if you can’t record. This is were wireless DVRs also called PVRs for (personal video recorders) can come in hand. If something should happen while your away or sleeping your camera system is always watching and recording.
This little device will make things much easier for the police should you need to involve them for things like property theft or vandalism. A good idea and something to think about for sure

Wireless cameras: A good solution for people in apartments
October 4, 2008
Back at the beginning of September I was talking with a couple of students who were renting a condo. They have been victims if a break in enter as well as theft of property form there vehicle out in the parking lot. To was able to tell them a bit about using wireless cameras.
This works because most apartments wont allow you to drill holes and string cables all over the place. As well as the ability to move them as needed. If you live in a rental this could be something to think about.
