Would it not be handy to have the ability to be every where at one/ Well almost every where. This is possible with the use of a portable wireless receiver. They are about the size if a Nintendo DS and are battery power. You can clip it to your belt and have access to your wireless camera any where in the home. They usually have a 2 inch LCD screen on them and you can toggle between your four camera right in your hands. Some of the fancier models also have the ability to record on the fly. Something to consider for around the house.

In this day and age there are many strange things that can happen. In the news you hear all too often about home invasions or scam artists try to to get money out of you or your family. Several people I know run a child care facility in their homes and having up to seven children aged 1 to 10 can make anybodies day very hectic. That being said the last thing you need is to have run to the door to find out someone is trying to sell you a magazine subscription or something. Having a wireless security cameras mounted at the front door can save you hassle and time . Just by flipping on your monitor you can see if it in-fact a child’s parent or a pesky sales agent. This placement of a wireless security camera can also act as a safety feature so you can check to see if it in-fact some one you know and not a prowler or worse!

Just about every one you know these days has a cell phone. These handy little devices can do much more than call people, aside from being a mp3 player or even a camera, the cell phone can become part of your home security system. There wireless ip cameras that will email you photos of movement if they sense motion in an area where they are monitoring. Some wireless ip cameras have software that allows you to run the camera from any where you have cell service. How handy would that be, you don’t even have to be at the house or office to run your home security system.
Things to know before you buy wireless cameras

In my experience in selling wireless cameras I get asked a lot of questions about wireless cameras. One of the most common questions I get from people is about the rolling bars that can show up on your screen. These bars are caused from noise in the air that is picked up by the cameras. This is normal and not a flaw in the camera. There is a slow shift in digital wireless cameras and with these some of the rolling bars issues should be solved.
What’s in your shed?

Quite often people keep a lot of their valuable in their shed or garage. Things like their kids bikes to ATV and snowmobiles. This is also known to thieves, especially if you have a back ally or live in a secluded area. This is a perfect place to use wireless security cameras as they only need power and have the ability to see into those dark places. You can use an usb type wireless receiver to view from your PC and record activity that shouldn’t be happening in and around your out buildings. Something to think about if you have a shed or garage and want to protect your belongings.
Seeing in the dark

Most often property crimes will take place in the cover of night. That being said if your are going to install wireless cameras it is a good idea to buy some with night vision capabilities. The general rule of thumb is the more LED sensors in the camera the further it can see in the dark. This is a good thing to know when placing the wireless cameras up around your home so you will be able to pick up good picture in the dark. At night the picture is usually black and white due to the way the technology works.
