The flexibilty of wireless camera systems
October 2, 2009![]()
Wireless technology allows camera placement in areas other wise impossible to reach with wired cameras. Some wireless systems use SD cards to record images. Others use a transmitter that sends a signal to a receiver which is connected to a DVR or a PC. Normally the signal can be sent at least 300 feet providing there is no major impediments.
Examples of wireless security cameras are a USB DVR wireless system that can have up to four cameras that can be used indoor or outdoor for personal flexibility. The USB receiver turns your computer into a network camera surveillance tool allowing you to see what is happening from anywhere in the world via the Internet.
In recent year the price of these wireless camera systems has become quite affordable. For less than a hundred bucks you can set up a wireless security cameras and receiver. That’s not bad considering what it could cost you to have a wired system installed by a professional.
