In this blog post we want to talk about different types of wireless cameras and how they differ. Today we are going to talk about the difference between CCD lens verse the CMOS lens as most people have no clue what this is or what it can mean for them. First we will start with the CCD lens or charge-coupled device which is made up of thousands of little pixels and a small 1/4 or 1/3 chip. This type of lens produces a much clearer picture than it’s CMOS counter part but is usually more money and if placed out side should be shrouded as the suns UV rays can damaged the lens. This type of lens is usually recommended for out door security as the clarity is much better making it easier to identify the possible bad guy. On the other hand theCMOS lens are cheaper but with lower quality in picture one feature is that you can produce a smaller camera with the CMOS technology and they also require less power to operate you can quite easily run one for anywhere between 4 and 6 hours off of 9 volt battery. These are thing you should look into before purchases a wireless cameras kit.
