Wireless cameras on RC trucks?

Author: nathan October 25, 2009

wireless camera with hand held receiver

As with anything people have their toys. In the world of RC (radio controls) cars and trucks the big fad these days is to install a small wireless camera so you can get a drivers view of that things look like while your car ripping along from the driver point of view. Another neat feature is to attach small wireless cameras to things like airplanes and helicopters to get a birds eye view of the land scape, pretty cool. I have recently purchased a RC rock crawler truck and am in the process of setting up a camera mount on the tuck so I can actually drive the truck a round with out actually seeing the vehicle. I plan to set this up for various applications that will come up in future blog post. The whole system (camera and receiver) cost around 150 bucks and the receiver can record so you can post cool crawls on You Tube for all the world to see, fun stuff! I am using a 2.4 GHz system with a water proof outdoor camera that can see in the dark. This setup brings a whole new element to RC toys for sure. I plan to post a video clip in the near future.
